 | I hope you will have great fun trying out the recipes in Nostalgia Bonda, the first in my Kasih project.
The Malay word, Kasih translated into English simply means ‘love’ and it is for this reason that I have started off with a dedication to the greatest love of my life to my mother and to all Mothers of the world.
The years have passed and now that I understand better what it takes to be a mother, I can’t help but reflect how I used to take so many things for granted the love of my parents, loads of their tlc (tender loving care)...and the comfort of home.
Just like the young of today, I was always busy chasing after the material world. |
Yet today I have become the concerned adult, disturbed by the many social issues around me broken homes, violence, unemployment, rape, robbery, drug addictions, suicides and other forms of crimes. Who do we blame parents? teachers? the government? the systems? Why are these happening? I can only conclude that it all has a lot to do with values and that it begins with the home. As parents and responsible adults, what sort of values are we propagating in our homes? How do we inculcate the desired values among our children?
